Junior Designer
SUNY Maritime College, located on the Throggs Neck peninsula in the
Bronx a short distance from midtown Manhattan and Westchester, seeks bright
and enthusiastic individuals to help support the mission of our college. We
currently have an opening for a Junior Designer.
Description of Duties:
- Create outstanding and well-designed print publications
- Collaborate with the college's webmaster to upgrade and enhance the
college's website and subordinate sites.
- Act as content manager of web, email blast, and print publications
- Work with senior designer as project co-manager for college
publications and marketing print communications including newsletters, brochures, and
annual report.
- Work within a team setting and design within the University Style
Guidelines
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's required.
- Demonstrated experience with webpage design and maintenance.
- Demonstrated experience with computer graphics.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and Power Point.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and balance many tasks at once and remain
organized.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Digital photography skills.
- 1-2 years professional experience
Desired:
- Ability to develop positive professional relationships with the
college
community and outside constituents.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, FLASH, Adobe
Illustrator
and Macromedia Dreamweaver.
- Prior experience with Content Management System (CMS) a plus.
- Resourcefulness, creativity, problem solving skills.
- Prior experience in development of marketing materials for
Development,
Public Relations, Admissions or Continuing Education a plus.
- Prior marketing / communications experience a plus.
- Prior team related experience.
